Each HETROFEN 100 tablet contains 100 mg of Aceclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)

Aceclofenac 100 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used for short term relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling in conditions that affect joints and muscles. It works by blocking chemical messengers in the brain that tell us we have pain. It can help relieve pain in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Uses and Indications:
HETROFEN 100 is prescribed for:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • It helps alleviate pain and inflammation associated with these conditions.

Mechanism of Action:
Aceclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX), with a preference for COX-2, reducing the production of prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation. Additionally, it stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which are essential for cartilage repair.

Dosage:
Typically, 100 mg taken orally twice daily. For patients with liver impairment, an initial dose of 100 mg per day is recommended.
