Flavoxate Hydrochloride IP 200 mg Film Coated Tablet

Flavoxate 200 mg Tablet is a urinary tract antispasmodic which helps to relieve the symptoms like uncontrollable and frequent urination. It should be used with caution in elderly patients due to an increase in the risk of drowsiness and vision disturbances. It is not recommended in patients with existing obstructive disorders in the urinary tract or gastrointestinal tract.

Uses OF Flavoxate TABLET

This medication is used to treat certain bladder/urinary tract symptoms. 

Flavoxate is a smooth-muscle relaxant.

Flavoxate works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder.

Flavoxate helps to reduce leaking of urine, feelings of needing to urinate right away, frequent trips to the bathroom, and bladder pain.

This medication does not treat the cause of your bladder symptoms (e.g., urinary tract/bladder/prostate infection or inflammation).

What is flavoxate?

Flavoxate reduces muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract.

Flavoxate is used to treat bladder symptoms such as painful urination, frequent or urgent urination, increased night-time urination, bladder pain, and incontinence (urine leakage). These bladder symptoms are often caused by overactive bladder, prostate enlargement, bladder infections, or irritation of the urethra.

Flavoxate will not treat a bladder infection. Infections must be treated with an antibiotic.
