Betahistine is used for Vertigo and Meniere's disease. It helps to reduce the episodes of vertigo associated with Meniere's disease.
Betahistine is used in the treatment of vertigo or sometimes in balance disorders.

GOVERT 8 Tablet is primarily used for the treatment of:
Meniere's Disease: A disorder of the inner ear that can cause vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss.
Vestibular Disorders: To improve balance and reduce symptoms of dizziness.
Mechanism Of Action Of Betahistine 8 mg Tablet :
Betahistine improves the microcirculation in the labyrinth which reduces endolymphatic pressure. Absorption: Rapid and complete. Metabolism: Hepatic. Excretion: Urine (as inactive metabolites); 3.4 hr (elimination half-life).
Improving blood flow in the inner ear. Acting as a histamine analog, it increases the release of histamine, which helps in reducing the pressure in the inner ear, thus alleviating symptoms of vertigo and related conditions.
Dosage of Govert 8 Tablet :
The usual dosage for adults is typically 8 mg taken three times a day, but it should be tailored according to the patient's condition and response to treatment. Always follow the prescribing physician's guidance.

Contraindications of Govert 8 Tablet :
GOVERT 8 Tablet should not be used in patients who:
Have a known allergy to betahistine or any of the tablet's components.
Suffer from pheochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal gland).
Are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting a healthcare professional.
How Betahistine works:
Betahistine is a histamine analog. It works by improving the blood flow in the inner ear which reduces the pressure of excess fluid there. Excess fluid can send signals to the brain causing nausea, dizziness or spinning sensations (symptoms of Ménière's disease). Betahistine additionally dampens down the nerve signals sent from the inner ear to the brain relieving the symptoms of Ménière's disease.
