Composition: Each Film Coated Sustained Release Tablet Contains: Nitrofurantoin IP- 100 mg

Uses:

  1. Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Nitrofurantoin is primarily used to treat infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria in the urinary tract, including cystitis and pyelonephritis.
  2. Prophylaxis against Recurrent UTIs: It may be prescribed to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections in individuals with a history of frequent UTIs.

Indications:

  • Acute Uncomplicated Cystitis: Indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated bladder infections in women.
  • Chronic Urinary Tract Infections: Suitable for patients who experience chronic UTIs to minimize recurrence.
  • Surgical Prophylaxis: May be used before urinary tract surgeries to prevent infection.
  • Pregnancy-Related UTIs: Nitrofurantoin can be used cautiously in pregnant women for UTI treatment, particularly in the second and third trimesters, as advised by a healthcare professional.

Dosage:
