Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole (Rale LS capsule) Uses
Rale LS Capsule use in gastro esophageal reflux disease (acid reflux), intestinal ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome.
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production and is primarily used to treat conditions such as gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent used to enhance gastrointestinal motility and is commonly prescribed for functional dyspepsia, gastro paresis, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Mechanism of Action of Rale LS Capsule:
Rabeprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the proton pumps in the stomach's parietal cells, thereby reducing the production of gastric acid.
Levosulpiride acts as a selective antagonist at dopamine D2 receptors and also has some affinity for serotonin receptors. By blocking dopamine receptors in the gastrointestinal tract, it enhances gut motility and accelerates gastric emptying.
How Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole works
Rabeprazole helps relieve symptoms associated with excessive stomach acid, such as heartburn and acid reflux, by decreasing acid production. Levosulpiride improves gastrointestinal motility, which can alleviate symptoms like bloating, nausea, and early satiety by facilitating the movement of food through the digestive system.
Common side effects of Rabeprazole, Levosulpiride Capsule (Rale LS):
Side effects of Rabeprazole may include headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and nausea. Levosulpiride may cause side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal disturbances. These are not exhaustive lists, and individuals may experience other side effects.
