SERZON TDP TABLET
Trypsin 50000 unit,Chymotrypsin 50000 unit,Diclofenac Potassium 50mg,Paracetamol 325 mg Tablet
The combination tablet containing Trypsin 50000 units, Chymotrypsin 50000 units, Diclofenac Potassium 50 mg, and Paracetamol 325 mg is commonly used for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and proteolytic (enzyme-breaking) properties.
Proteolytic enzymes have been used to facilitate tissue repair since ancient times.
Trypsin:chymotrypsin is an oral proteolytic enzyme preparation which has been in clinical use since the 1960s. It provides better resolution of inflammatory symptoms and promotes speedier recovery of acute tissue injury than several of the other existing enzyme preparations. This review article revisits the role and clinical utility of trypsin:chymotrypsin combination in tissue repair.
Tissue damage of all types, such as surgical or accidental injuries, fractures, and burns, stimulates a well-orchestrated, physiological process of healing, which ultimately leads to structural and functional restoration of the damaged tissues.
The tissue repair process can be broadly divided into four continuous and overlapping phases—hemostasis and coagulation, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. If the process is interrupted or halted during any stage, it leads to impaired healing and formation of a chronic wound. Chronic wounds are associated with significant morbidity, mortality, and poor quality of life.
Therefore, prompt and effective management of acute tissue injury is necessary to prevent it from progressing to a chronic wound.
Uses of Trypsin,Chymotrypsin,Diclofenac,Paracetamol Tablet :
-
Indication: Primarily used to manage pain and inflammation associated with various conditions such as:
-
Musculoskeletal disorders (e.g., sprains, strains)
-
Post-operative pain
-
Inflammatory conditions like arthritis
-
Soft tissue injuries
-
Mechanism of Action of SERZON TDP Tablet:
-
Diclofenac Potassium: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, thus reducing inflammation and pain.
-
Paracetamol (Acetaminophen): Acts centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS, reducing pain and fever.
-
Trypsin and Chymotrypsin: Proteolytic enzymes that help in the breakdown of proteins, potentially aiding in the resolution of inflammation and promoting healing.
Side Effects of Trypsin,Chymotrypsin,Diclofenac,Paracetamol Tablet:
-
Diclofenac Potassium: Common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances (e.g., nausea, dyspepsia), dizziness, headache. Rare but serious side effects include gastrointestinal bleeding and renal impairment.
-
Paracetamol: Generally well-tolerated at recommended doses but can cause liver toxicity in overdose.
-
Trypsin and Chymotrypsin: Local irritation at the injection site if administered locally; systemic side effects are rare.
Contraindications of SERZON TDP Tablet:
-
Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

-
History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation.
Drug Interactions of Trypsin,Chymotrypsin,Diclofenac,Paracetamol Tablet :
-
Diclofenac Potassium: Potential interactions with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, corticosteroids, and certain antihypertensive drugs.
-
Paracetamol: Limited interactions; caution advised with drugs that affect liver function.
-
Trypsin and Chymotrypsin: Minimal systemic absorption limits significant drug interactions.
Dosage:
-
Typically taken orally.
-
Dosage may vary depending on the severity of the condition and the patient's response.
-
Usually prescribed 1 to 2 tablets per day.
