Ferrous Ascorbate+Folic Acid (Zwitfer Syrup) Is Used For Iron Deficiency And Anemia.

ZWITFER Syrup is a combination of Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid, commonly used for the treatment of iron and folate deficiencies.

Uses/Indications:

ZWITFER Syrup is primarily prescribed for:

  • Iron-deficiency anemia: To treat or prevent iron deficiency, especially when caused by poor diet, blood loss, or pregnancy.

  • Folate deficiency anemia: Particularly in cases where there’s a deficiency of folic acid.

  • During pregnancy: To prevent folate deficiency and neural tube defects in the developing fetus.

  • General iron supplementation: In individuals who require additional iron, such as growing children or the elderly.

Dosage:

The exact dosage of ZWITFER Syrup will vary based on the patient's age, health condition, and specific requirements. A typical dosage may include:

  • Adults: 1-2 teaspoons (5-10 mL) daily, depending on the severity of the deficiency.

  • Children: Typically, 1 teaspoon (5 mL) per day, but should be adjusted as advised by a healthcare provider.

Mechanism of Action:

  • Ferrous Ascorbate: Provides iron to the body, which is crucial for the formation of hemoglobin in red blood cells, helping to restore normal red blood cell levels and prevent anemia.

  • Folic Acid: Plays a critical role in the production and maturation of red blood cells. It is vital for DNA synthesis and helps in the proper development of the fetal neural tube during pregnancy.
