How Bilastine + Montelukast (POLERGY BM TABLET) works

Bilastine is an anti-allergic medication. It treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine) in the body.

Bilastine belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.

It helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, congestion, or stiffness.

Montelukast works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.

Montelukast is used to control and prevent symptoms caused by asthma (such as wheezing and shortness of breath).

It is also used before exercise to prevent breathing problems during exercise (bronchospasm).

This medication can help decrease the number of times you need to use your quick relief inhaler.

Montelukast is also used to relieve symptoms of hay fever and allergic rhinitis (such as sneezing, stuffy/runny/itchy nose).
